Get involved in the life of the school community. At BHMS, parent involvement is not only strongly encouraged, but is an integral part of everyday life. Involvement opportunities range from serving in the classroom to helping to organize school social events. Find your area of interest and get involved, you can make a difference.
An open invitation is extended to all our parents to volunteer during the school year. As a not for profit independent Christian school, committed to enriching the lives of our student body, we rely on volunteers. Parents are encouraged to complete a volunteer form to indicate their area of interest.
Please contact your classroom Director or the BHMS office to get involved as an invaluable volunteer.

As a not for profit independent school, BHMS does not receive funding from the Ministry of Ontario. We therefore rely on monies raised through fundraising to enhance our programming and facilities. Annual fundraising goals are shared with the school community. We rely on parents and staff to be involved in our fundraising efforts.
Parent / Teacher Interviews
There are two formal, scheduled methods of communication between parents and directors:
- Parent Conferences twice a year
- Written Progress Reports twice a year. The Progress Reports summarize student's overall growth and achievement during the school year
Otherwise, parents and directors meet any time issues arise regarding a child's academic and / or emotional well-being.
Parent Education Workshops
Education workshops which are presented by faculty are designed to provide parents with hands on knowledge of the Montessori curriculum. Parents will gain a deeper understanding of Montessori principles and student lessons. Please refer to the school calendar for schedule and timelines.
An integral part of parent involvement is observation of your child’s Montessori class in action. Half hour morning visits can also be booked throughout the year and may be coordinated by your classroom Director. We strongly encourage parents to participate as this enables parents to witness the dynamics of a Montessori classroom.
